Purpose of Role/Scope of Position: This role will be primarily responsible for the manufacturing of tooling utilising the manual machines whilst also having the capability to program, set and operate the CNC Machines in the workshop. Key Tasks & Responsibilities: To produce a high quality product operating a range of manual milling machines and lathes ensuring quality workmanship at all times in addition to programming, setting and operating the CNC Machines. Programme, set and operate CNC machines. Must have ability to programme using ProtoTrack and Heidenhain control systems. Ability to operate manual milling, turning and drilling machines. Manufacturing of jigs and fixtures. Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, carrying out first off inspections is essential. Ensure that production quality and output levels are optimised at all times. Re-enforce the department s positive approach to knowledge sharing and supporting apprentices/trainees. As a senior member of the Machining team you will be required to provide an input into new processes and procedures and actively work to implement these. Liaise with the Engineering department to ensure smooth running of the Machining function. Be the Apprentice mentor for manufacturing, coaching new members of the team and assisting in their development as required. Carry out any other duties reasonable within capability including possible secondment to work in other areas on the shop floor. Any other reasonable duties as assigned by the Management team. Expected Qualifications / Experience: Proven experience of CNC programming, setting and operating Proven experience in Toolmaking utilising manual machines A flexible approach to work and have a keen interest in developing new skills and supporting the wider business as required. Organised, focused and able to adopt a high level of attention to detail within your work. Must be self-motivated and guarantee safe working at all times. A good communicator, prepared to work as part of a team. Excellent attendance record and timekeeping. Willingness to travel regularly in UK and worldwide as required Valid driving licence and passport essential
