Leads team of cross functional professionals for a specific period to time to deliver high quality technology solutions to the business. Lead collaboration to create and agree upon plan to deliver a solution to the business, and then baseline the project for ongoing tracking either by scope or functionality. 

Team will follow the chosen project management methodology and standard work to deliver the solution, continually keeping the project team and stakeholders informed of progress, challenges, and plans to overcome those challenges.  The scope of job can range from a program, set of projects or product depending upon assignment.  The resources may be managing the entire project or a specific part of the part of the project.  Financial management may be of department, program, or projects and include applicable Procurement Management activities.


Customer Information Transformation (CIT) Project Manager  

  • Project & Process Delivery Support -  As a Project Manager within the CIT team, this technical leader is responsible for the delivery of multiple workstreams within the program. Responsible for all aspects of IT project lifecycle. Support the project and team members with RAID log management and all PMO established processes.  

  • Experience with SOW management, building and tracking progress against a schedule for IT projects and managing the related scope to deliver projects within budget. 

  • Will need to gain an understanding of how the workstream provides value to the program and have the ability to embed themselves into the work to ensure delivery is successful.  

  • Will need to partner with an experienced Scrum Master also on the team to advance the team's Agile practices and continuously improve its delivery capability 

  • Will need to partner with various other workstreams on the program as well and manage dependencies on our schedule.  

  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written, with all levels of the organization, including C-level   

  • Able to take on non-standard project management tasks to respond to requests the team needs to address with minimal direction. 

  • Strong meeting coordination and facilitation skills to enable status report outs, planning, problem solving, continuous improvement, etc.  

  • Vendor management capability to partner with outside suppliers on project execution while managing risks and maintaining AEP's best interests. 

  • Manage one or more intermediate or complex projects, within a matrix team environment.

  • Provide leadership, direction, training, coordination, and effective communication to initiate, plan, execute, monitor and control, and close projects in a safe, efficient, economical, risk-balanced approach to achieve short and long range goals and to obtain maximum customer satisfaction. 

  • Provide project transparency and develop relationships and effectively communicate with all stakeholders including internal customers, external customers, team members, suppliers, contractors, vendors, and industry peers, enabling them to make sound business decisions.

  • Enable and promote team level continuous improvement activities that increase quality and optimize delivery of value.

  • Perform supervisory duties and responsibilities if direct reports are assigned.      

  • May provide training and mentoring, as well as work direction, to others on the team.




Education: Bachelor's degree in project management, computer science, or related technical field is required.

Experience: 7 years of relevant work experience is required.

An equivalent combination of education and related experience may be considered.

Additional Preferred Requirements:
  • PMP Certification, PMO Experience
  • 10+ years process/analytical/transformation experience
