Security Compliance Specialist (Security - Full Time) - Sea Island

Basic Job Function:  Primary function is to monitor home sites & construction on Sea Island to ensure that Builders and Contractors comply with the guidelines established by the Sea Island Architectural Review Committee, and enforce compliance as applicable. To act as a liaison for the ARC to both Contractors and the Sea Island Property Association. This position will also have a secondary function to support the Security Department's training needs, such as ensuring onboarding training, tracking department certification requirements and arranging certification/recertification in conjunction with the Department Office Supervisor, and providing learning and development opportunities for new and existing team members.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Associates Degree or higher in a relatable field preferred
  • Minimum three (3) years of experience in Code Enforcement, Security, Law Enforcement, or Military strongly preferred
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in training and development preferred
  • Must have ability to familiarize and become well versed in the Amendment to the Sixth Amendment to the Declaration of Restrictions, Conditions, Limitations, Easements, Rights, Privileges, Etc. as set for by the Sea Island Architectural Review Committee (ARC).
  • Critical thinker with innovative problem solving skills
  • Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal
  • Valid Driver's License with an acceptable driving record to pass a yearly Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) review
  • Company policy requires that one must be 21 years of age or older to operate a company vehicle.
  • Current CPR/AED certification preferred; must be willing to become certified upon hire
  • Highly computer literate with a proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office software applications, such as: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Must have the ability to courteously present information to people in one-on-one and group situations
  • Must be able to stay poised and enforce policy decisions in difficult situations

  • Tasks/Responsibilities:

  • Utilizes computer-based applications to report and track contractor compliance with the Amendment to the Sixth Amendment to the Declaration of Restrictions, Conditions, Limitations, Easements, Rights, Privileges, Etc.
  • Establishes a strong working relationship with Sea Island contractors, residents, the Sea Island Property Owners Association, and Property Management staff to ensure that defined expectations and conditions are adhered to and enforced
  • Attends and presents information at required meetings of the Sea Island Architectural Review Committee and SIPOA
  • Visits construction sites on Sea Island to monitor and ensure compliance with the Amendment to the Sixth Amendment to the Declaration of Restrictions, Conditions, Limitations, Easements, Rights, Privileges, Etc.
  • Meets with Contractors to discuss infractions and enforce site restrictions in accordance with the decisions of the Sea Island ARC.
  • Establishes a strong working relationship with department managers to ensure staffing expectations are met
  • Building and updating training curriculum and manuals for the Security Department
  • Assisting and working with the Security Management team on training & development for the Department
  • Collaborating with the Sea Island Learning & Development team for additional department training standards
  • Tracks Security Department training and certification
  • Assists with field training and onboarding of Security Department team members
  • Writing policies and procedures related to training and compliance
  • Ensures department certifications are up to date, and works with the Security Office Supervisor to schedule required department training.
  • Updates and maintains department training manuals, task inventories, and task breakdowns.
  • Works independently on special and nonrecurring and ongoing projects
  • Maintain a thorough knowledge of current guest services, activities, dining options, shops, local attractions, and historical information regarding Sea Island and the surrounding area to answer any questions guests may have to the best of one's ability
  • If applicable, complete a Guest Problem Resolutions (GPR) form on any issues (solved or unsolved issues) and follow-up on issues as needed (if computer access is not available give information to admin support)
  • Maintains cleanliness and organization in all work areas
  • Uphold appropriate departmental standards of quality/timing
  • Uphold and ensure compliance with all company and departmental policies and procedures
  • Report all equipment problems and maintenance issues, known safety hazards, or unsafe practices and procedures to supervisor immediately
  • Attends all scheduled employee meetings and brings suggestions for improvement
  • Willing and timely execution of other duties as delegated by leadership
  • Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to kneel, crouch, crawl, squat, climb, stand, sit, balance, reach, bend, push, pull and walk for prolonged periods
  • Ability to lift, carry, pull and push up to 30 lbs
  • Ability to communicate effectively in English, both written and verbal
  • Ability to type and/or enter data on a keyboard at least 35 wpm
  • Ability to work for extended periods of time in an outdoor environment, including sun, heat, cold, wind, rain, and higher than normal noise levels
  • May be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and fume hazards
  • Maintain compliance with Company Resort Professional Image Policy
