Role: Quality Test Technician - 3rd shift

In this role, see yourself in support of final performance testing on distribution transformers.

You will perform all electrical tests required by ANSI Standards to establish pass/fail of transformer:
  • Assist with analyzing part failures, identifying root cause and making recommendations;
  • Perform all required electrical & thermal testing: applied voltage, induced voltage, load/no-load loss, resistance, and heat-run;
  • Support sound testing: energize unit to compare noise levels to standard requirements;
  • Operate impulse system: simulate high voltage surge to ensure quality of various components;
  • Implement corrective/preventive actions;
  • Collect, enter and analyze test data into Test Bay Application, Test program, or Excel spreadsheet;
  • Read and interpret information from bill of material packet for information concerning connections, special testing, customer requirements, etc.;
  • Move transformers into and out of inspection area;
  • Assist in maintenance of test equipment;
  • Make test adapters from raw materials;
  • Some weekend overtime may be required
Requirements: Basic Requirements:
  • Knowledge of and skill to perform operations in arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and statistics;
  • Attention to detail and ability to communicate with varying levels of employees;
  • High school diploma or equivalent;
  • Resides within a reasonable commuting distance of Washington MO.
  • Legal authorization to work in the United States on a permanent basis. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • ACT WorkKeys National Career Readiness Certification (NCRC): Platinum or Gold Level;
  • Post-Secondary Certificate or Associate's Degree;
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (MS Outlook, Excel, and Word);
  • Experience with a variety of test equipment & systems;
  • Experience in quality inspection and knowledge of electrical testing;
