We have an excellent opportunity to join our Finance team as the Purchase Ledger Assistant. Based at our head office in Patchway, Bristol, you'll assist the team and the Finance Manager with all aspects of the purchase ledger work to include calculation and posting of journals, reconciliation work and month end processes.

This role is 30 hours per week ideally over 4 days per week and requires both working from home and in the office. Actual days of work can be discussed further. Inititally, the succesful applicant will be required to complete training in the office for around 2-3 weeks.

About the role

You'll maintain Brandon's purchase ledger on the accounting package, including payments to suppliers, statement reconciliations and balance sheet reconciliations. You'll raise and resolve queries from suppliers as they occur.

This is a varied role including operating a system for registering all incoming purchase invoices/credit notes, checking authorised purchase invoices, reconciling supplier statements and dealing with supplier queries.

About you

You'll have excellent interpersonal skills and can effectively communicate at all levels. Organised, you are able to prioritise workloads to meet deadlines and have good attention to detail.

Able to demonstrate sound financial knowledge you'll have experience of double entry book-keeping through work history and/or qualifications. You have a good working knowledge of ledger accounting, with an understanding of prepayments and accruals. You have experience of BAC's and cheque payments, dealing with suppliers and of developing good working relationships with them.

Canddiates should demonstrate a good level of computer literacy to include Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook.

You'll have a Maths and English qualification at Level 2 or equivalent or be able to demonstrate competence at this level through assessment.

Successful applicants for this role will require a basic DBS check.
