Procurement Heads has been retained on a greenfield procurement mandate by Pool Re, the UK's largest terrorism reinsurer, to recruit a Procurement Coordinator. Set up in 1993 by the insurance industry in cooperation with the UK government, Pool Re is a commercial, entrepreneurial and unique business with one purpose: to protect (reinsure) UK commercial property against damage through acts of terrorism. As part of a three-role, retained campaign, the Procurement Coordinator will be one of the first hires in a newly created Commercial Services function, reporting to the Head of Procurement & Commercial Services and sitting within a team of three. In this team, you ll lead on eProcurement and Contract Register tools, contract due diligence and assurance as well as working closely with suppliers to ensure maximum value and resolve any issues. Working closely with the Procurement & Commercial Services Manager, you ll gain experience in running lower-value procurements and supporting the wider commercial team in running procurement activity above current Public Contracts Regulations 2015 (PCR 2015) threshold. To be considered, you ll need a desire to pursue a career in procurement with strong commercial acumen. Previous experience within a procurement function would be beneficial but not essential for this role. Key responsibilities of the Procurement Coordinator role: Running and enhancing the eSourcing Portal and contract register Maintenance of contract assurance framework Maintenance of contract register and contract milestones Undertaking a regular assurance programme Assuring regulatory compliance in relation to specified contracts Supplier engagement and new market development Supporting the Commercial team in conducting procurement activity Coordinating cross-functional assurance activity in relation to risks such as GRPR, Information Security and supplier stability Key skills and experience for the Procurement Coordinator role: Effective communication skills with the ability to build relationships at senior levels within the organisation, an excellent level of written English and the ability to distil data into succinct presentations Ability to organize and facilitate Ability to work independently and unsupervised Changing and Improving responsive, innovative and seeking out opportunities to create effective change.
