Job Fund Advisor x2 FTC December 2023 £29-31k To do this, Jobs Fund Advisors (working with partners, stakeholders and other officers) support the development and co-ordination of interventions aimed at increasing the number of young people who enter employment, increasing employment opportunities through good jobs and improved quality of life across Greater Birmingham and Solihull. Our client is looking to recruit two Job Fund Advisors to assist and support young people (NEETs) and employers. Successful candidates will bring a passion for innovative approaches and a drive to implement an ESF funded project. Within these roles Brokers will be: - Working to engage with young people (NEETs), to determine eligibility for this project and supporting them to apply for the roles created as a result of the offer of financial incentives for employers in the area. - Working with employers who wish to take up the financial incentive offer to create a new apprenticeship or job role to establish a recruitment process, job offers, risk assessment, employment and support for the NEETs. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES 1. Support the development and delivery of the European Social Fund Young People Job's Fund project 2. Engage with young people (NEETs) and employers, and support them through their customer journey 3. Assist client businesses and young people (NEETs) by working closely with them on a one-to-one basis to address their skills, training and employment barriers to growth 4. Work closely with the Growth Hub team and Skills Hub team to ensure that clients have a smooth and successful journey through the service and are seamlessly cross-referred to required/available support 5. Develop and build relationships with young people (NEETs), businesses, partners, Growth Hub managed and advisors, GBSLEP Executive staff, skills, training and development support organisations and funded projects, other ESF funded projects and relevant networks to aid client acquisition 6. Work closely with partner projects (especially ESF partners that underpin and complement the ESF activity of the Skills Hub) to support the project beneficiaries and maximise the impact of the ESF intervention 7. Develop a Project Guidance Toolkit & pack for Young People & Employers, Young People Engagement strategy and Employer Engagement strategy. 8. Collect and record all interventions, activities and impacts, according to protocols and the requirements of funding bodies 9. Contribute positively to Skills for Growth Hub and Growth Hub outreach including events, marketing and communication and information channels, such as the website, newsletters and social media, etc. 10. Maintain accurate, complete and timely records through the Client Relationship Management (CRM) tool and database 11. Ensure that European Social Fund external requirements are complied with from a funding perspective. 12. Maintain high standards of confidentiality and ensure compliance with data protection and information security standards 13. Represent the Skills for Growth Hub (and GBSLEP) when required at meetings or events 14. Support the evaluation of the Skills for Growth Hub and determination of how the services may be adapted and improved in the future, as well as determining possible future sources of funding to support the sustainability of the Hub 15. Comply with and support the health, safety and welfare of Skills Hub Team and colleagues working within the team 16. Work in accordance with all the policy guidelines and procedures and within the requirements of the ESF projects to support compliance. 17. To have a positive, flexible and pro-active approach including doing other duties (which may be outside normal working hours) as requested from time to time by GBSLEP or Growth Hub Management Knowledge: Significant and detailed knowledge of the skills, training and employment support landscape Knowledge of business issues and skills growth barriers, particularly for SMEs and the kinds of solutions available to them Knowledge of unemployment issues and access to employment barriers, particularly for young people (NEETs) and the kinds of solutions available to them Strong understanding of ESF compliance and other funding regimes Qualifications / memberships SFEDI or IAG accreditation Relevant professional body accreditation Work experience Working with or in businesses (ideally SMEs) or with skills, training, apprenticeship and/or employment providers to deliver growth Account management experience, ideally with multiple and varied clients Working with young people (NEETs) to provide advice and support High level of interpersonal skills, both written and verbal, with ability to engage, influence and deliver across clients and stakeholders Excellent communication skills including report writing and presenting where necessary Excellent administration skills including inputting and quality checking data (CRM) Ability to analyse data and support its interpretation in reports Working as part of a team in a complex service environment Providing relevant and impact focused advice and guidance to SMEs and their senior management Attitude / Behaviors Flexibility to work outside normal working hours where required from time to time Ability to be flexible and find positive solutions to the challenges of clients and the wider team Understanding the importance of equality and diversity and its practical implementation
