Our client, a risk management service provider for buyers and sellers within the food industry, are recruiting for a Risk Assessment Manager to be based from offices near Chelmsford, Essex. Full training will be provided. The position involves travel to ports across the UK and in Overseas markets, predominantly across Europe. Their services include independent delivery supervision, weighing, sampling, inspection, survey, and quality analysis. The company serves a critical role in assisting the buyer, seller, and regulatory bodies with respect to evaluating engagement performance and compliance with commercial/regulatory trade requirements. Commodities of focus include sugar, cocoa and coffee. Responsibilities: Manage the general commodity desk s operations. This operation is focused on delivery supervision, weighing, sampling, inspections, surveys and quality analysis of sugar, cocoa and coffee bean deliveries. Management and Oversight Responsibilities include: Subject Matter Knowledge: Master a deep understanding of sugar, cocoa and coffee: Relevant contractual requirements, Quality parameters and analysis methods, Regulatory and exchange requirements pertaining to supervision, sampling, and quality Relevant logistical aspects Engagement Related: Primary liaison between customers, field personnel and administration desk to ensure engagement and service execution is optimized. Scheduling and managing field personnel Troubleshooting engagement issues and customer inquiries with actionable solutions Working with administration team with respect to engagement reporting and billing Customer Relationships: Building customer trust Maintaining current and building upon customer relationships Operations: Collaborate with team members throughout the company. Promote, develop and further enhance company culture Managing costs and engagement profitability Skills and Qualifications Required: Supervisory / management level experience within warehouse / port operations Experience in the field, visiting ports & warehouses would be beneficial Ideally 8 to 10 years of experience in a business management and leadership position Strong interpersonal and customer service skills Ability to lead and manage in a team oriented manner Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Strong work ethic, work well under pressure and willingness to be hands on For full details, contact Willis Global - a leading Recruitment Consultancy for the Supply Chain & Logistics industry
