Position Description:The company's Alternatives platform has over $145 billion in assets under management across a mix of private equity, evergreen and hedge fund vehicles, and with a range of target returns. The alternatives platform comprises a broad and growing suite of flexible strategies, focused primarily on corporate, real estate and specialty finance sectors, as well as securities trading, and spanning the US, Europe and emerging markets. We are building a dedicated technology team to focus on the alternatives business. We are seeking a Program manager who will help manage all the Alts related projects cutting across business work streams i.e. PM, Analytics, Risk, Finance, Ops, PSG, Business management and across the global locations. The Program Manager will be a seasoned and strategic thinker consistently demonstrating partnership and leadership to generate results; also skilled at resolving challenges, exploring varied opportunities, and leading multiple initiatives. Essential functions and responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:Manages the full project management life cycle and software development life cycle for the implementation of highly complex, large scale, strategic IT Initiatives within a Pillar/Platform of the Long Range Strategic Plan.Manage delivery of assigned programs and projects by working closely with business and engineering teams, and driving collaboration to ensure teams are working on prioritized projects that aligned with defined missions and goalsProvide hands-on program management and manage business alignment on priorities through proper planning and effective communication, including: articulating status and big picture to the project team and stakeholders; proactively identifying risk and managing escalations; addressing inefficiencies; and driving efficient workflowsProvides a detailed plan of how the risk will be managed or eliminated. Provides a weekly Program status report with major risk factors when mitigation approach impacts the project timeline, budget, or objectivesCreate transparency, measurability, and accountability to effectively manage deliveries Anticipate and manage stakeholders expectations and engagementContribute and share best practices on project management and SDLC principles and standards Champion agile development methodology and frameworksDevelop and apply new ideas, approaches and methods with an entrepreneurial spirit Foster positive working relationships and create an environment for team collaboration and knowledge sharingPosition Requirements Minimum of a Bachelors DegreeMinimum 10 years of professional work experience leading global project management teams at major alternative investment management firms, asset manager and/or similar institutions.Minimum 7 years of technical project management experience in a traditional and agile environment, preferably in risk management platforms, and leading firm wide change management initiatives while providing advice to stakeholders and leaders.Working knowledge of and experience with financial products (such as listed security and/or derivative) valuation and risk management solutions and/or knowledge of pricing and risk measurement on derivatives from various asset classes such as interest rate, FX, fixed income, etc.Demonstrated experience developing and executing change management strategies, stakeholder engagement and communications planning, business readiness and sustainment in support of project implementations, process improvements, and organizational structure changesMastery of Microsoft Office Suite, including Project, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel; knowledge of Jira, KeyedIn, and other PPM tools is a plusPreferred QualificationsPrior Management Consulting experience from a top tier consultancy focused on the Financial Services industry desirableProject Management Professional (PMP) designation is a plus Experience with Front Office technologies Required Technical / Other CompetenciesStrong program management and change management skillset with working experience to manage concurrent large-scale change initiatives Seasoned experience software engineer leader with extensive background in managing SDLC deliveries, preferably for derivative and risk management solutions Detailed understanding and knowledge of project management and change management principles, methodologies and toolsExperience creating and leading communication and change management plans with strong ability to effectively manage and influence stakeholders/project teams Demonstrated ability to understand and articulate the complexity of business processes, and build/develop practical communications plans based upon those needsProven track record leading cross-organizational programs and ensuring commitments by holding teams and individuals accountable to timeline and deliverables Professional Skills Requirements Excellent communication (verbal and written), facilitation, and interpersonal skills, including the ability to face off across all levels of an organization Ability to flourish in a challenging, fast-paced, constantly evolving environment, operate with high standards and integrity, and exhibit excellent multi-tasking skillsDemonstrated ability to impact, drive, and maintain the teams focus on strategy and goal-oriented resultsStrong ability to build relationships, establish trust, and form effective alliances across teams and functions to ensure optimal end-to-end delivery and meeting key stakeholders needsDemonstrated commitment to high quality and attention to detailSelf-starter and self-organized leader to drive optimal results through large teamsA hands-on practitioner with the ability to shift between operational and strategic mindsets Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities Demonstrated ability to navigate unstructured processes and to simultaneously manage responsibilities of multiple/concurrent work streams and competing demands Demonstrated experience designing, building, and implementing strategies or processes that enhance business performance, automate processes and/or create a user-friendly experience Demonstrated ability to translate business needs into technical requirements
